About this place
One of the defining pleasures of Ippachi is its fresh fruit cocktails, which capture the seasonal character of ripe produce directly in the glass. Depending on the time of year, the fruit selection varies widely, ranging from carefully sourced varieties like Tochigi Tochiotome strawberries, Ibaraki Asahi-mura Oto melon, and Miyazaki mango to kiwi, pineapple, and even tomato or pumpkin. Crafted to highlight natural fruit flavours, these drinks can also be adjusted in alcohol strength, allowing guests who prefer lighter drinks to enjoy them at a comfortable pace.
A whisky collection tied to the shop's name, complemented by bar dining
Another pillar of the establishment is its whisky lineup, assembled with a nod to the bar's name, Ippachi. Rather than relying heavily on standard 12-year-old expressions, the back bar focuses primarily on 18-year-old bottlings, offering an intriguing selection for whisky enthusiasts. Playful initiatives like the whisky gacha held on the 18th of each month also provide opportunities to encounter uncommon labels that are not often poured. In addition, the bar serves substantial hot food such as curry and rice doria, offering a dependable way to eat a proper meal while having a drink.
Set on the second floor of a building in Bunkyo Ward's Sendagi, the space maintains a quiet, calm mood well suited to unwinding on a solo evening. The bar operates from early evening until late into the night, closed on Thursdays, and accepts cashless payments including credit cards, PayPay, and Rakuten Pay. Whether inquiring about the day's fruit arrivals or lingering over the finish of a whisky, guests will find plenty to enjoy when choosing their drink.
